Calorie counting – Weight Loss

Every New Year we make resolutions, usually ones that involve weight loss. So out comes the scale and exercise clothes, and away go the cookies and cake and fast food and we start trying to lose the weight by beach season. For some of us this isn’t an easy task because we love foods with lots of calories!

Counting calories

Calorie weight loss as a way to diet has been around for many years now, this is typically where we start when we want to lose weight. Checking the nutritional facts to see how many calories the meal contains is a great way to decide what to eat or what not to eat.

Unfortunately pretty much everything with a flavor will contain some calories, even a stick of gum or a cough drop. Foods that are good for you also contain calories such as fruits and veggies; bananas actually have 90 (about) calories mostly depending on size. So don’t think just because you are eating something from nature that it doesn’t contain any calories.

Many people also don’t realize that they are drinking most of their calories from sodas, juice, or even protein shakes. Cut out soda completely (or switch to diet if you can’t give it up) and limit your juice intake so you don’t use up all your calories by just drinking.

Counting calories is quite simple, you can go online and find free calorie counters and type in what type of food you’ve eaten and they will give you the calories in that food. Even if you eat fast food (which you really shouldn’t if you are on a diet) you can find the calories contained in the meal online.

For most of us a daily caloric intake should be 2,000 calories per day. A common misconception is that if you only consume 1,500 calories by the end of the day you can splurge and have a 500 calorie piece of cake. This is not true, you need to only be eating healthy foods that contain calories, if you have a piece of cake everyday because you starved yourself all day for it, you will just end up eating more and gaining weight instead of losing it.

Vitamins and minerals

Along with eating healthy foods with low calories, you must also keep an eye on the vitamins in the food also. As said before, if you eat just junk food all day and the calories equal your daily intake you will not lose weight, you will gain weight. There is a reason they call it junk food because it is junk and not good for you at all.

Treats

Just because you are on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself once in a while. It is perfectly healthy for you to have treat every now and then such as a piece of cake on your birthday. If you deprive yourself of a treat every once in a while your diet will most likely fail because you aren’t allowing yourself to live a normal life. Diets should be more of a life style change than just a temporary diet if you are planning on keeping the weight off.

Exercise

In order for your diet to work, you must remember to exercise, you don’t have to run out and get a gym membership you just need to get active. Even simple things such as walking your dog or vacuuming are considered exercise and can help you on your way to losing weight.

Losing weight doesn’t have to be hard, you must commit and change your life for the better. Keep in mind that you will be healthier and happier at a weight level that is healthy for you and make sure to read PhenQ review.  Calorie weight loss is a simple way of beginning your dieting journey. Just eat a little less every day and track your progress.
